Aloha Florist --
Designing the Perfect Wedding Flowers For Your Special Day
"There is nothing like a dream to create the future" Victor Hugo
As a way to relieve the stresses of her very busy dental practice, Raluca Sandler spent as much time as she could, working in her beloved flower gardens, both at home and at the office. She was rewarded for her efforts with many awards from the local beautification committee and found herself written up in books and magazines. She was pleased and flattered, but in her heart was a dream that, like the seeds and bulbs she planted in the ground, was growing in her heart. She dreamed of owning a flower shop. Like most people, the demands of her life prevented her from acting on her dream. Then one day, along came John Cleveland. He owned a small flower shop which he ran from his home. He had received multiple awards for his floral, wreath and tree designs, but John was looking for a change. So the two of them put their heads together and the dream was born. Raluca’s love of the Hawaiian Islands suggested that the shop would specialize in tropical and exotic flowers. John’s love of the Adirondack and his 25+ years in floral design assured that the shop would be well grounded in any type of floral design. Aloha Florist, LLC bloomed.
Like Raluca and her dream of a Flower Shop, many brides have dreamed for a long time about their special day. All brides want that special bouquet to carry, and flowers to grace both the service and reception, but many do not know how to execute the dream. That is where John Cleveland, floral designer shines.
Putting your dreams together
Do you dream of a theme for your wedding? John can enhance your themed wedding with just the right floral designs.
Are you thinking of a “Wedding in Paradise” theme? Aloha Florist can provide fresh flowers flown in from Hawaii just for you. Imagine Birds of Paradise and orchids gracing your bouquet or your reception. Your wedding day would be sunny no matter what the weather.
Perhaps a Victorian theme is more your style. Old fashioned nosegays, dainty tussy-mussies, or luxuriant cascades can be designed just for you.
The contemporary bride might opt for a most elegant arm bouquet of long stemmed calla lilies.
Perhaps you are not thinking along the lines of a theme, but want your wedding flowers to be a reflection of your personality. Color can do that beautifully.
Color personalizes your wedding
Are you an “orange freak”? When your friends think of you, do they think “purple”? The colors that speak to you also speak about you. If your friends know just what color you carry in your heart, perhaps you should incorporate it in your wedding plans, even if it isn’t really “customary”. A splash of that color can always be incorporated even in the most traditional of wedding florals.
Maybe you are “stuck in the sixties”. Imagine flowers in the brilliant colors of your favorite tie-dyed shirt.
Are you a little girl at heart? Should everything you touch be pink? There are countless flowers in all shades of pink for the “fairest princess in the land.”
Or perhaps you are very traditional and dream of creamy white for everything the bride touches. We can work within your guidelines to give you your hearts desires.
Communicating your dreams to your florist
Whatever your dreams, the most important part of getting what you want is letting your florist know what it is you are thinking of. Be sure to talk to your florist well in advance of your wedding date. If you have seen pictures of what you like, be sure to bring them with you to your consultation. Think of them as starting points and don’t be afraid of asking for changes. A good floral designer will understand the little nuances you are looking for.
Here at Aloha Florist we urge you to come in and talk to us and get to know us. We want your day to be as special as you dream it will be. We offer free consultations, and should you decide to order your dream flowers from us, we will include, at no additional charge, your throwing bouquet.
Get to know your florist and let him/her get to know you. You should feel comfortable talking with your designer and letting them know exactly what your dreams are. Aloha Florist would love to make your dreams come true. Come and visit us and tell us your dreams!
